LinePilot is a local-first Android application for managing how calls to a selected work SIM behave. This policy explains what information the app handles, why it is needed, and the choices available to you.
1. Who is responsible
LinePilot is responsible for the app. Privacy questions and deletion requests can be sent to info@linepilotapp.com.
2. Information processed on your device
LinePilot may process the following information locally:
- Active SIM subscription metadata, such as the subscription identifier, SIM slot and carrier/display name, to distinguish your selected work SIM from another SIM.
- Incoming call state and the detected SIM subscription, to decide whether a call should ring or be rejected according to your settings.
- Your selected work SIM, schedules, manual overrides, ringtone references, language choice, onboarding state and technical status.
- Contact access solely so Android can include calls from saved contacts in call screening where the platform requires this permission. LinePilot does not upload your address book.
This information is stored locally using Android app storage. LinePilot does not request permission to read your telephone numbers.
3. Permissions and platform services
- Phone status: used to identify active SIM subscriptions and incoming call state.
- Call screening role: used to allow or reject incoming calls. Google Phone remains the default phone app.
- Contacts: used for Android call-screening coverage as described above; contacts are not copied or uploaded.
- Notifications and foreground media playback: used while a selected custom ringtone is playing.
- Start after reboot: used to restore the app's local operating state after a device restart or app update.
4. Diagnostics you choose to send
LinePilot can prepare a diagnostic report containing the app version, device manufacturer/model, Android version, permission and role status, schedule state, and technical success or error messages. The report is designed not to contain telephone numbers, contact names, call audio, voicemail, message contents or precise location.
Nothing is sent automatically. The app displays a confirmation and opens your chosen email app. You can review, edit or cancel the message before sending it. If you email a report to us, we receive the report and the email address you use. We use it only for support, compatibility testing and improving LinePilot, and retain it only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes or legal obligations. You may request deletion by email.
5. Data sharing, advertising and tracking
LinePilot has no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, tracking SDK or app-operated cloud account. It does not automatically upload contacts, call history or call content. Information is disclosed only when you explicitly choose to share a diagnostic email, when required by law, or through platform providers necessary to distribute and operate the app, such as Google Play and Android.
6. Carrier services
When LinePilot rejects a call, your mobile carrier may route it to carrier voicemail according to your subscription and carrier settings. LinePilot does not operate or store voicemail. Your carrier's own privacy terms apply to its services.
7. Purchases
Future paid features may use Google Play Billing. Google processes payment details and purchase records under Google's privacy terms. LinePilot does not receive your full payment-card details. This policy will be updated before paid functionality is released.
8. Security and retention
Local settings remain in Android's app storage and are normally removed when you uninstall the app, subject to Android backup and restore behaviour. No security method is perfect, but LinePilot minimizes data handling and uses Android's permission and application-sandbox protections.
9. Children
LinePilot is intended for adults managing a work telephone line and is not directed to children.
10. Your choices and rights
You can revoke permissions in Android settings, change or clear schedules inside the app, stop using diagnostics, or uninstall LinePilot. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. Contact us to ask about information you have deliberately sent to us.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app, legal requirements or data practices change. The effective date at the top will be updated, and material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
